The Parent Involvement Program (PIP) was started in 1991 with a two-fold purpose.

First, to benefit the faculty and staff by providing an ample, consistent source of help for: clerical projects, classroom project preparation, class parties, weekend work crews, library assistants, scout leaders, field trip and dance chaperones, committees for parent-to-parent Annual Giving Fund Phon-a-thon, Grandparents Day, HASA, Athletic Association plus dozens of other areas.

Second, and perhaps most important, was to follow through on a Department of Education study that showed that students perform better in the classroom when their parents are involved in their school.

As part of the registration requirement at St. Jude school, parents are required to complete 8 PIP hours per child per year up to a maximum of 20 hours per family

Monthly, we publish a list of opportunities where parents can volunteer.  We also provide PIP reports through out the year which allow parents to stay in touch with the hours they have recorded.  Hours completed can be recorded in the main building or sent to the Program Coordinator, Kathie Etherton.  (see details below)

St Jude School parents have traditionally responded to "PIP" by not only meeting the minimal required 8 hours per child, but by consistently surpassing a total of 10,000 volunteer hours per year!

The Box-Tops for Education program allows us to cash in box tops from General Mills products for 10 cents each.  Annually, this can add several hundred dollars to the operating budget.  Small collection boxes are provided in all classrooms, in the back of the church and a large collection bin is located in the main school building.  Please trim your "Box-Tops" so that there is no additional portion of the label included.  This will help hold down our postage cost. The coordinator for the Box Tops for Education for 2006-07 is Kathy Fortin. For a complete list of all participating Box Tops products, click here.

If you register at Box Tops For Education, then you can enter St. Jude each month to win Bonus Box Tops through the promotional/coupon area. This month you can enter 2 sweepstakes. It only takes a few clicks of the mouse

Our 2006 - 2007 school year Box-Tops for Education Total is currently at $1,371

An invitation to join the St. Jude School Endowment Club:  In order to secure the financial future of our school so that it will be able to continue to offer quality services to all its members, we have established the St. Jude School Endowment Fund.  Gifts made to the Endowment Fund are invested in trust for the future.  Only the investment income generated annually will be used.  This creates an additional ongoing source of income for the school; the larger the Endowment Fund becomes over the years, the greater will be the yearly income.  If you are interested in making a donation to the Endowment Fund, please contact Kathie Etherton.
