Mission
Statement St. Jude Home and School Association is dedicated to helping promote spiritual growth, a quality education, and a safe environment for the children, staff, and educators. St. Jude Home and School Association is committed to implementing activities that will encourage participation by children, parents, teachers, and staff. HASA Every parent at St. Jude School is a member of the Home and School Association (HASA). Our job is to coordinate activities which benefit the students, teachers, and staff. The aim of each undertaking is to allow teachers to focus on classroom activities, as well as permitting parents to take part in their children’s education. HASA is responsible for the Room Parent Program, Newcomers’ Committee, Welcome Back Breakfast for faculty and staff, and other various events which may come up during the school year. We also have a Spirit Store where all members of St. Jude can purchase items such as t-shirts and drink cozies which allow students, parents, and teachers alike to show others how proud they are to be a part of St. Jude School! Sally Foster Sales are a major fundraising effort and take place as school commences in the fall. The profits of this sale are used for purchasing items on the Teachers’ Wish Lists and funding various activities throughout the school year – including the Ice Cream Sundae party held during Catholic Schools Week. HASA sponsors a variety of other fundraisers and events, including Moonlight Escape (to be held again in 2010!), and the new Father/Daughter Dance scheduled for January 24, 2009. Proceeds from these events have been used in the past to make improvements in Siener Hall and to help fund the Family Life Center. By May, 2009 St. Jude School had won $21,500 from the Northgate Mall's "My School is Cool" program. The contest is on again this year - watch for information to come and save those Northgate Mall receipts!!! . Please contact any member of our HASA board if you have any questions or want to get more involved. Working together we make a difference at our school.
School Committee The St. Jude School Committee is established by the pastor, in accord with diocesan policy, to advise him and the principal in the governance of the parish school. The 2009 - 2010 School Committee is actively working through established subcommittees on a variety of projects to enhance our school. Areas of focus include Technology, Athletics, Facilities, Development and Marketing. The theme for the 2009/2010 school year is "Renew the Passion".
